I believe I have used this before but I'm not sure and I've stumbled upon it (again?) today:

  For those who don't know, Transport Tycoon Deluxe was an AWESOME game by Chris Sawyer. Really a timeless classic with unlimited replayability.
  These people have made (and continue to improve) an open source version (without the original graphics but the original graphics can be imported)!
